As I type this, it is the middle of October and Ashes to Ashes is booked out for 3 weeks. Calls keep coming in and everyone wants their chimney serviced ASAP.

Every year this happens like clockwork. September – February we are out in Santa Rosa and the surrounding area sweeping chimneys nonstop. It is understandable why this happens. Who thinks about cleaning their chimney during summer right? But spring and summer is the best time to get your chimney swept!

Why spring and summer months are best to get your chimney swept!

• During spring and summer months we are usually available the same week and have multiple openings. This makes it much easier for the customer to get a date and time that works best for them and their schedule!
• During summer we are not as rushed. This means we usually have extra time to go over your chimney or stove, best burning practices, how to tell if your wood is dry and just chit chat. We love talking to customers!
• No rain! We can’t sweep during the rain. Rescheduling a customer that has been waiting a few weeks is never a fun thing.
• Creosote is acidic and is corrosive to your flue system and firebox.

The list goes on and on. Don’t wait next year till it gets cold to get your chimney swept! Do it after your done burning for the year.
